2010 Supper Club a retro success

For the second year running our Supper Club dance has been proclaimed a highlight of the 2010 social calendar by members of our Business Club and supporters of our House alike. Returning once more to Alexandra Park, guests were treated to a fantastic night full of fun and frivolity (which often came from MC Mark Wright). The Mermaids put on a rocking ‘retro’ performance that ensured the dance floor was always full and the delicious supper was commented on by many.

The expert skills of Ray White Auctioneer Mark Te Whare made the auction a highlight of the evening. His superb efforts and the support of the 400 strong crowd saw us raise a total of $47,000 from the evening — a wonderful result!

A night like this could not have been possible without the fantastic support of the organizing committee, donors and supporters. A big thank you to everyone involved for helping to create a superb evening.

Hubbards share Lochie’s story

Hubbards cornflakes pack

Hubbards has been a keen supporter of the House since our Business Club began back in 2007. More recently Hubbards extended its support by sharing some of our families’ stories on the back panel of its children’s cereal boxes, helping to ensure the House is seen on breakfast tables throughout the country.

Last month saw Hubbards mark the release of its new Cornflakes cereal by displaying Lochie’s story (as featured in the Christmas issue of Homepage) with 5 cents from every pack sold coming to the House. Please show your support by choosing to buy these products next time you’re in the supermarket!

ASB blind challenge

Susan Booth and her wonderful team from ASB Credit decided that as part of their team building/planning day they would build two children’s bikes blindfolded! Two completed bikes (with no missing pieces!) were then presented to the House for our children to ride.

A big thank you also to Hedgehog Bikes for doing the bike safety check.
