Our wish list
Help our families meet their post Christmas budget blues — here are some items we would love your assistance with:
- Petrol vouchers (our vehicles are used to transport families to the supermarket, attractions around Auckland, and the hospital)
- Telecom Yabba cards
- Foodtown or other supermarket vouchers
We would not be able to continue helping our families without our generous supporters (these include businesses, community groups, schools, individuals and families). In addition to monetary donations, we always need various new items and products for the House’s day-to-day use.
Our House and Family Room are in need of the following items. Can you, your school, community group or business assist us?
- Family food and kitchen items
- Basic foodstuffs with a shelf life (canned goods, pasta sauce and pasta etc)
- Breakfast spreads
- Pyrex dishes and other microwaveable dishes
- Salad bowls/mixing and serving dishes (plain white)
- Kitchen utensils — Pepper grinders/salt shakers, veggie peelers, knives, cutlery etc
- Dairy products — cheese and butter
- Fresh vegetables especially potatoes and fruit
- Plain white crockery
- Family hygiene products
- Shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shavers
- Nappies and Wet wipes
- Family linen and bedding
- Portacots and cot bedding — sheets, blankets
- Baby fitted and flat cot linen, dri sheets
- Toys, games and entertainment
- New toys for children up to the age of 18 (we give children presents on their birthday and also at Christmas time)
- Playstations and Playstation games — children and teenagers
- Xbox games — children and teenagers
- DVDs — children’s, teen titles, family movies
- Board games and cards
- Colouring books and puzzles
- Other items
- Pushchairs, strollers (preferably ones that collapse up small for easy storage)
- Reams of white copy paper
- Stamps
- Plain white DLE envelopes
- Umbrellas — to help our families stay dry getting to and from the hospital on wet days

The RMH Auckland Trust funds and governs Ronald McDonald House Auckland (48 rooms), the Ronald McDonald House Family Room (13 short stay critical care rooms) in Starship Hospital and RMHA St Martins (16 offsite apartments). It is a registered community charitable trust comprised of the following partners: Auckland District Health Board, Child Cancer Foundation, Heart Children, The Rotary Club of Downtown Auckland, Ronald McDonald House Charities and 2 community representatives. The House, Family Room and St Martins provide a ‘home away from home’ for over 3,000 families of children with life-threatening illnesses each year. The Trust through its staff and partnerships actively fundraises throughout New Zealand to achieve the $3,000,000 p.a. it needs to run the facilities and support its families.
