Volunteer positions available

At Ronald McDonald House® Auckland we rely heavily on the support of kind volunteers in order to provide the best possible care for families staying with us.

To be the right fit for volunteering at our two Ronald McDonald Houses or Family Room, you need to have warm, kind and understanding nature. Volunteering here will provide you with some great experiences but will also mean that you will sometimes meet families in the midst of some very difficult circumstances.

One-on-one training will be provided for all volunteers by the Volunteer Manager and the respective staff the volunteers will be working with. Volunteers will be supported by a staff member at all times.

Because these tasks can sometimes be strenuous we like to have our volunteers complete only 2 or 3 hour shifts with a maximum frequency of once a week!

Currently we are short of hands in the following areas:

School Support

RMH Auckland runs a registered school and we have one full time teacher and a full time teacher aid but the number of children attending the school can be unpredictable, so additional support is sometimes required. Tasks include helping children with reading, writing, drawing and preparation of daily activities.

Gardener

Our wonderful volunteer gardener Jill has volunteered at the house for 13 years and with the recent addition of our new family garden, Jill needs some help.

If you love working outdoors and have green fingers we would love you to come and support Jill in ensuring the grounds of the House remain in tip top shape.
